FAQ

Can I use Grant funds for general dentistry?

IDG funding does not cover basic dentistry procedures. Only procedures involving dental implant therapy are eligible.

Why Should I Apply for an IDG Grant?

Implant dentistry can help rebuild your teeth and smile. If you have been suffering from missing teeth and inadequate replacement of those teeth, or are soon to be loosing teeth, the IDG program can help attain a more functional, and aesthetic smile.

Who Applies for an Implant Dentistry Grant?

Many people apply for IDG funding for many different reasons. For example, those people that are tired of having dentures that move around when they are eating, or those who are tired of the expensive replacement of failing, aged dental treatment. In addition, patients who are suffering from debilitating periodontal disease and are afraid of a future with dentures can immensely benefit by receiving the treatment that is provided by the funds available in the grant. Implant supported dentures are unbeatable in the confidence they can provide and the quality of life they can restore. On the other end of the spectrum, some people may have lost a tooth in an accident at some point in time and would like that tooth permanently replaced.

How do I Qualify as a Candidate?

To determine your eligibility, you will be provided with a comprehensive oral assessment by a Certified Dental Practitioner in your area. Following completion of your assessment, and presuming you are a good candidate for implant dentistry, the dental practitioner will recommend you for inclusion in the IDG Program and develop a treatment plan that will help achieve your desired results.

How are Implant Dentistry Grants Awarded?

Implant Dentistry Grants are awarded each quarter, to a maximum of $250,000 per year, to qualified applicants. Grant awards, and your success in obtaining one, vary each quarter contingent upon the cumulative number of applicants, the needs of those applicants, and the number of dentists that contribute to our program.

How does the Process Work?

    1. An applicant submits a request for funding at our website.
    2. The applicant’s information is confirmed by our staff.
    3. A dentist near the applicant agrees to provide a comprehensive oral assessment and consultation, then contacts the applicant to arrange an appointment.
    4. The dentist determines eligibility. If the applicant does not qualify, the dentist will make necessary recommendations.
    5. If/when eligible, the dentist will provide the applicant with an implant dentistry treatment plan.
    6. When a grant is awarded a financial arrangement is made with the dental office and the work is completed.

Can I apply more than once?
